Data Architect

We're hiring a Data Architect to define and implement an organisation-wide data strategy, building a modern, scalable, and AI-ready data platform. This role will sit at the heart of a major transformation programme, integrating fragmented data and enabling advanced analytics and insight-driven decision making

Description

• Define and lead the enterprise data strategy, governance model, and data policies
• Design and implement scalable data architecture across multiple business domains (HR, Finance, Commercial, CRM)
• Build and integrate data pipelines, semantic layers, and canonical data models
• Enable AI and advanced analytics use cases, ensuring data is clean, modelled, and lineage-tracked
• Shape the data platform roadmap (Azure ecosystem: Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, etc.)
• Establish data governance frameworks, including metadata management, stewardship, and compliance (GDPR)
• Act as the subject matter expert for data architecture, influencing senior stakeholders across the organisation
• Promote ethical and sustainable data practices, including responsible AI principles

Profile

• Proven experience (8+ years) in data architecture and enterprise data strategy
• Strong background in cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred)
• Expertise in data governance, modelling, metadata, and data lineage
• Experience integrating multiple enterprise systems (e.g., HR, Finance, CRM, operational systems)
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex data concepts into business outcomes
• Experience preparing data platforms for AI / ML use cases
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Relevant certifications (Azure, CDMP, TOGAF) are advantageous

Job Offer

• Day rate ranging from £600-800 per day (Inside IR35) depending on experience
• Hybrid working - London based office
• 6 month contract
